About Us

Before we met, we had each emigrated to San Fransisco in the mid’90s – Sarah from Iowa and Sid from Georgia. We met in German class at SF City College, where we had each enrolled in night classes. That first night of class, Sid took one look at Sarah, got up out of his seat, walked across the room and sat down next to her. He started giving her rides to and from class and then one thing led to another…We got married in 2003 in San Fransisco in a park overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Our love for one another has grown stronger and stronger in the 19 years since.

Our Marriage is one of empathy, mutual Respect, openness, and trust.

"Meet Sarah"
by Sid

The best thing I’ve ever done in my life is ask Sarah to marry me. She’s my best friend. The best part of every day is meeing up with her at home after work – I still look forward to that after 19 years! She has a natural gift for languages, and speaks fluent French, good German, some Spanish and even a little bit of Norwegian. She comes from a solid Midwestern family of good folks, and her parents are great in-laws. Sarah has become an amazing cook and would love to teach your little one how to bake bread in our newly remodeled kitchen. Her boundless compassion, patience, and empathy will make her a fantastic mom.

When I met Sid over 20 years ago, I felt like everything had just naturally fallen into place. I had met my soul mate. He completely understands me, and the peacefulness in our marriage is something I never take for granted. I can always count on him to celebrate and support me whatever life brings each day. He is one of the kindest people I have ever met- with consistent empathy and compassion for those around him. Your child would be raised learning how to treat everyone with fairness and grace. Sid will make an incredible father and I can picture him showing your child how to fix things, and passing down his knowlegde of the way things work to your child!

Our Family

Sid: "My half-sister has two children and my two cousins have six between them, three of whom are adopted! They are in New Jersey, South Carolina, and Georgia. We visit them around four times per year. I grew up being really close with my cousins, and they are both like brothers to me. The best times of the year are when my whole family gathers at my aunt's lake house. We go water-skiing, ride jet skis, play pickleball and ping-pong, ride bikes, build Legos, have Nerf-gun wars. build pillow forts, and shoot the giant potato cannon I built for them. It's a wonderful and welcoming environment for your child."

Sarah: My parents live in the Midwest and we visit them around twice a year. We still manage my great grandparents' 200-acre farm, and I love that connection to my ancestors. There are big tractors your child would love to ride on, and there's always a litter of kittens in the barn! My mom and I talk on the phone several times a week. My parents can't wait to meet your child and show them around the farm.

Fun Facts About Us!

We love to travel!

Between the two of us, we’ve been to 48 of the 50 states and Venezuela, Germany, Italy, Croatia, Slovenia, France, Switzerland, Austria and the Czech Republic. We always have a trip planned, and we can’t wait to bring your child along to see the world!

Sarah: “I design custom rugs and carpets for some of the finest homes in the world. Oprah, Bill Gates, and Mark Zuckerberg are just a few of our clients. I recently did the carpet for a multi-million-dollar-mega-yacht in the Netherlands. My work is always challenging, and there’s never a dull moment.”

Sid: “I own a high-end residential remodeling company which has let me keep a close connection to my love of carpentry, even though I don’t get to swing a hammer anymore. All of our employees are first generation immigrants from Mexico.”

Sid's Sweet Ride

I have a 1959 Ford Skyliner convertible I inherited from my Dad. Some of my fondest childhood memories are of him and me working on, and driving around in, that car, and I'm looking forward to building memories like that with your child.

Sarah: “I’m an avid yoga practitioner, and Sid built me a yoga studio in our house. A few years ago, I started feeding and taking care of some of the friendly neighborhood cats that would wander through our yard. Since then, we’ve adopted three as our own pets: Jerome, Pickles, and Buddy. Sid has built little houses in the backyard for them and set up video cameras so we could keep an eye on them. We hope to have a dog someday soon, and we want your child to always have a furry friend or two (or three) to love!

Sid: I’m a scuba diver, and I have filmed some really cool underwater videos of some incredible sea creatures. When your child is a little older, I would love to take him or her diving and show them the amazing undersea world!
